There are few areas in Houston that have the majesty of Kingwood and the down-home feel of Humble, says Roya Arfa, Texas Realtor and Relocation Specialist for Beth Wolff Realtors in Houston. Known as the Livable Forest because of its preponderance of tall pines and oaks, forested trails and parks, Kingwood is a delightful community for families. Humble, with its small-town ambiance, is equally attractive to those looking for a more bucolic setting to raise children. Less than a half hour drive from downtown Houston and 10 minutes from Houston's international airport, Humble/Kingwood is the commercial and social center of northeast Harris County. The area offers housing options to suit a wide range of budgets and tastes, and all the amenities and services needed for comfortable, enjoyable living.

One of the first master-planned communities in the U.S., beautiful Kingwood is comprised of 25 heavily forested villages or neighborhoods, including Deer Ridge Estates, Greentree, Hunters Ridge Village, Kings Crossing, Kings River, Kingwood Glen, Kingwood Greens, Kingwood Place Village, Kingwood Place West, Kingwood Town Center, Lake Houston, North Woodland Hills, Northchase, Northpark Place, Northwood Manor, Parkwood of Northchase, The Reserve at Kings Point and Trailwood Village. Each village has its own shopping facilities, community swimming pool and parks. Residents enjoy walking, biking and running through 500 acres of parks and nature preserves and there are several golf courses, including the Clubs of Kingwood Country Club. Lake Houston, which borders Kingwood and is only five miles from Humble, is popular for boating and fishing for both communities.

The site of what was once one of the largest oilfields in Texas and the birthplace of ExxonMobil, Humble was first settled in 1828. Situated along the San Jacinto River, Humble is an established community with many fine neighborhoods with full amenities, including Pines of Atoscocita, Atoscocita Forest, Deerbrook Estates and Fall Creek.

Both Kingwood and Humble are safe, established communities with outstanding schools provided by the Humble Independent School District and the New Caney Independent School District. Community events in Kingwood include Thursday's Farmer's Market at Town Center Park, the Lake Houston Area Chamber Golf Classic, Kingwood Fine Arts Festival, Cravings Food and Wine Fair, the Picnic on the Park Easter Festival, Mardi Gras, auto shows, Fourth of July celebration and Christmas in the Park. Humble is also an active community, hosting the Texas Beer Festival; Humble Trade Days for collectibles, crafts and antiques; the Shell Houston Open Golf Tournament, which is part of the PGA tour; the Humble Rumble All-Star Wrestling Tournament; Make Mine Texas Musicfest; and the Good Oil Days. While residents of the area fully enjoy the cultural offerings of downtown Houston, Kingwood has its own Chorale/Musical Arts Society and Pops Orchestra, which offer seasonal performances for all to enjoy.
